Import Photo to Picasa

Picasa works seamlessly with Picasa web album, you can easily import web album photos to local disk. This is very useful to backup and restore photos between two computers without an external hard disk. Besides, Picasa lets you import photos from digital camera and folders.

Folders also help a lot to manage photos, you can decide whether and how often a folder will be scanned to Picasa. Therefore, important photos will be added to Picasa timely.

Manage Photo Albums

Photo albums are the main way to organize your digital photos. Before importing photo to Picasa, create a new album by the date taken, by family member, by year, and more.

Name Tag and Quick Tag

Name tag is the latest feature added to Picasa 3.6. With facial recognition, you give people name tags so that you can organize your photos based on what matters most: the people in them. Next time, you click one person's avatar, you get all photos having that person. This is my favorite feature.

Google also improved Picasa's tagging experience. Now a Tags panel is provided, with one click, you apply tags to selected photos. The tagged photo could be located easily by searching applied name in the Picasa search box.

Apply Star Icon

You can star your favorite photos so that you can find them when you want. To do so, highlight photos in an album, folder, or project, and click Star icon at the bottom. If you are browsing photos with star rated, click star filter on top, you show starred photos only.
